In case you’re diagnosed with hypothyroidism, don’t panic! Just keep the following points in mind while eating.
- Coffee: Restrict on the coffee. The caffeine restricts the thyroid hormone replacement.
- Alcohol: Alcohol has severe toxic effects on the thyroid gland and the ability of the body to absorb thyroid hormone is suppressed.
- Fiber: Low fiber diet is recommended. Excess fiber affects the thyroid gland.
- Sodium: Sodium intake should be restricted. Avoid Processed food high in sodium content.
- Excess Sugar: Excess sugar is a good option to put on extra pounds, and with hypothyroidism, it is the best!
- Excess fat: Fat affects the thyroid gland to produce hormones. Avoid fatty foods.
- Gluten: Its smarter to avoid gluten since it irritates the intestine and has bad affect on hormone replacement medication.
- Cruciferous Vegetables: Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, etc. interfere in the production of thyroid hormone. Cooking these vegetables can reduce the affect.
